Booking Terms & Conditions
These Booking Terms & Conditions apply to bookings made directly with The Powerscourt Arms Hotel, including bookings made through our website, by phone, by email or directly with the hotel.
By making a booking, you agree to these Terms & Conditions on behalf of yourself and all guests included in the booking.
1. Hotel details

For the purposes of these Terms & Conditions, “we”, “us” and “our” refer to The Powerscourt Arms Hotel. “You” and “guest” refer to the person making the booking and all guests included in the booking.
2. Booking confirmation
A booking is only confirmed once you receive a booking confirmation from us or from our booking system, Mews.
It is your responsibility to check that all details on your booking confirmation are correct, including your name, dates of stay, room type, number of guests, rate, cancellation terms and any special requests.
Please contact us as soon as possible if any details are incorrect.
3. Rates and payment
Room rates are quoted in euro and include VAT, unless otherwise stated.
Most bookings at The Powerscourt Arms Hotel are prepaid at the time of booking. Where a booking is prepaid, payment will be taken in full at the time of booking, or in accordance with the rate terms shown during the booking process.
Some bookings may be made on a flexible or cancellable basis. Where this applies, the cancellation terms will be clearly stated at the time of booking.
Payment, booking and property management services are processed through Mews, our booking system, payment system and property management system.
We reserve the right to pre-authorise, validate or charge the payment card provided at the time of booking in accordance with the terms of your reservation.
4. Prepaid and non-refundable bookings
Where a booking is described as prepaid, advance purchase, non-refundable or similar, the full booking amount may be charged at the time of booking.
Prepaid or non-refundable bookings cannot be cancelled, refunded, transferred or amended unless otherwise stated in the specific rate terms or required by law.
If you do not arrive for a prepaid or non-refundable booking, no refund will be due.
5. Flexible bookings and cancellation policy
Where your booking is made on a flexible or cancellable rate, you may cancel free of charge up to 48 hours before the scheduled arrival date, unless different terms are stated on your booking confirmation.
If you cancel within 48 hours of your scheduled arrival, you will be charged 100% of the total booking value.
If you do not arrive for your booking and have not cancelled in accordance with the cancellation policy, this will be treated as a no-show and you will be charged 100% of the total booking value.
Where payment has already been taken, the cancellation charge may be retained from the amount paid. Where payment has not yet been taken, we reserve the right to charge the payment card provided at the time of booking.
6. Amendments to bookings
Any request to amend a booking is subject to availability and the terms of the rate booked.
Changes to dates, room type, number of guests or package details may result in a change to the price.
Prepaid, non-refundable or promotional bookings may not be amendable unless otherwise stated in the rate terms.
7. Third-party bookings
If you book through an online travel agent, third-party booking platform, travel agent or other third party, your booking may also be subject to that third party’s terms and conditions.
Any amendments, cancellations or refund requests for third-party bookings may need to be made directly through the third party you booked with.
We are not responsible for any fees, terms, errors or conditions applied by third-party booking platforms.
8. Check-in and check-out
Check-in is from 3pm on the day of arrival.
Check-out is by 11:30am on the day of departure.
Early check-in and late check-out are subject to availability and may incur an additional charge. These must be agreed with the hotel in advance.
If you fail to check out on time without prior agreement, we reserve the right to charge an additional fee.
9. Guest identification and age requirements
Guests may be required to provide valid photo identification at check-in.
The person making the booking must be at least 18 years old. Guests under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
We reserve the right to refuse check-in where valid identification is not provided or where we reasonably believe the booking has been made fraudulently, unlawfully or in breach of these Terms & Conditions.
10. Payment card and security
A valid payment card may be required at the time of booking and/or check-in.
By providing your card details, you authorise us to charge the card in accordance with these Terms & Conditions, including for accommodation charges, cancellation fees, no-show fees, damage, missing items, additional services, unpaid balances or other charges properly due under your booking.
Card details are processed securely through Mews and/or its payment processing partners.
11. Damage, missing items and stolen property
Guests are responsible for any damage caused to hotel property, rooms, fixtures, fittings, furniture, linens, towels, keys, equipment or other items during their stay, whether caused by the guest or by any person visiting or staying with the guest.
We reserve the right to charge the payment card provided for the reasonable cost of repair, replacement, specialist cleaning or loss caused by damage, misuse, negligence or theft.
This includes, but is not limited to, missing or stolen items from guest rooms or hotel premises, damaged furniture or fittings, stained or damaged linens and towels, lost keys, smoking-related cleaning costs, or any other property belonging to the hotel that is removed, damaged or rendered unusable.
Where possible, we will notify the guest of any charge and provide details of the reason for the charge.
12. Smoking and vaping
The Powerscourt Arms Hotel is a non-smoking hotel. Smoking and vaping are not permitted in guest bedrooms, bathrooms, corridors or any indoor area of the hotel.
If smoking or vaping takes place in a room or other prohibited area, we reserve the right to charge a cleaning fee and any additional costs incurred, including loss of revenue where the room cannot be resold.
13. Guest behaviour
Guests are expected to behave respectfully towards other guests, staff, visitors and hotel property.
We reserve the right to refuse service, cancel a booking, or require a guest to leave the hotel without refund where we reasonably believe that the guest has:
- behaved in an abusive, threatening, unsafe or disruptive manner;
- caused or may cause damage to hotel property;
- breached these Terms & Conditions;
- disturbed other guests;
- engaged in unlawful activity;
- failed to comply with reasonable instructions from hotel staff.
In such cases, the guest remains responsible for all charges incurred, including accommodation, damage, missing items and any additional costs.
14. Room occupancy
Rooms must not exceed the maximum occupancy stated at the time of booking.
Only registered guests are permitted to stay overnight. Additional guests are subject to availability, room capacity and any applicable charges.
We reserve the right to refuse access or charge additional fees where the number of guests exceeds the number booked.
15. Special requests
We will do our best to accommodate special requests, including room preferences, accessibility requests, dietary requirements or arrival time requests. However, special requests are subject to availability and cannot be guaranteed unless confirmed by us in writing.
Please notify us of any accessibility requirements or dietary requirements as early as possible before your stay.
16. Breakfast and additional services
Where breakfast or any additional service is included in your rate, this will be stated on your booking confirmation.
Additional services, packages, upgrades or items purchased during your stay may be charged separately.
Any unpaid charges may be charged to the payment card provided.
17. Pets
Pets are not permitted unless expressly agreed by the hotel in advance or unless required by law in the case of assistance dogs.
Guests are responsible for any damage, cleaning or disruption caused by an animal brought onto the premises.
18. Parking and personal belongings
Any parking information provided by the hotel is subject to availability and local restrictions.
Guests are responsible for their own belongings, vehicles and personal property during their stay. We recommend that valuables are kept secure and that vehicles are locked.
We are not responsible for loss or damage to guest property except where caused by our negligence or where liability cannot be excluded by law.
19. Lost property
Items left behind by guests will be held for a reasonable period, where possible.
Guests are responsible for contacting the hotel to arrange collection or return of lost property. Postage or courier costs may apply.
Perishable, unsafe or low-value items may be disposed of at the hotel’s discretion.
20. Force majeure
We will not be liable for failure to provide services where this is caused by events outside our reasonable control. This may include extreme weather, fire, flood, power failure, utility failure, government restrictions, strikes, illness outbreaks, security incidents, or other circumstances beyond our control.
Where such an event affects your booking, we will try to offer a reasonable alternative where possible.
21. If we need to change or cancel your booking
In rare circumstances, we may need to amend or cancel a booking due to events outside our control, operational issues, safety concerns or other unavoidable circumstances.
If this happens, we will contact you as soon as reasonably possible and, where appropriate, offer an alternative date, alternative accommodation, or a refund of amounts paid to us for the affected booking.
We will not be responsible for additional costs or losses, such as travel expenses, unless required by law.
22. Website accuracy
We aim to ensure that all information on our website, booking engine and communications is accurate and up to date. However, errors may occasionally occur.
We reserve the right to correct obvious errors, including pricing or availability errors. If an error affects your booking, we will contact you as soon as reasonably possible.
23. Guest complaints
If you have an issue during your stay, please notify reception or hotel management as soon as possible so that we have an opportunity to resolve it.
